One Seed Forward aims to encourage people of all ages to grow their own food, to eat seasonally and healthily and to share their knowledge and any spare crops with others in the community.

We are a voluntary organisation, established in 2017. We give away free seeds, seedlings and plants to schools, community groups and the public in the North-East of Scotland.

All we ask in return is for growers to share some of their crop with family, friends and neighbours. Or to use some of the crop for cooking at community events, or as donations to foodbanks. By doing this, as many people as possible can enjoy the taste of newly grown, fresh fruit and vegetables.

Please download a copy of our One Seed Forward information leaflet. If you would like printed copies of the leaflet please contact us.

If you’re interested in working with us please get in touch. You can find out more in our Work With Us section.

In 2018 we won the Sustainable Food EcoCity Award – given to the organisation which has most successfully demonstrated a commitment to promoting and facilitating sustainable Food (ethical, locally sourced or equivalent) in Aberdeen.

We work with the University of Aberdeen on our One Seed Forward Garden Schools programme.
