A Community Growing Initiative
One Seed Forward is a community growing initiative. We aim to encourage people of all ages to grow their own food, to eat seasonally and healthily and to share their knowledge and any spare crops with others in the community.
As a voluntary organisation our team come from a variety of backgrounds but all share a great enthusiasm for growing, gardening and being outdoors, and are aware of the physical, mental and social benefits this brings. We believe that small positive changes can make a real difference for individuals and communities.

We work with the University of Aberdeen on our One Seed Forward Garden Schools programme
In 2018 we won the Sustainable Food EcoCity Award – given to the organisation which has most successfully demonstrated a commitment to promoting and facilitating sustainable Food (ethical, locally sourced or equivalent) in Aberdeen.
